How large will my group be?
The maximum group size on TopBike Rental & Tours holidays is 20.
If I'm travelling alone, will you find me a roommate or can I have a private room?
Our prices are based on double occupancy (two people per room). If you would like a roommate, TopBike Rental & Tours will endeavor to pair you with one (same gender). If no roommate is available, the private room charge will be due at final payment. Should a roommate be found before your trip departs, the private room charge will be refunded.

Should I bring my own bike?
TopBike Rental & Tours' trekking bikes are included in the price of your holiday: for tours in Rome your bike will be a Mellow or Azimut, for tours outside Rome it will be a Vitesse or Azimut.
If you choose to bring your own bike, we can offer tips on the best ways to ship it to the departure point.
Can children take part?
Children under age 14 cannot take part in our tours. Kids aged 14 to 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Are there any discounts for kids?
Kids pay the full charge.
Where is the meeting point and departure point for the tours?
The meeting and departure point is our headquarters in central Rome, at Via dei Quattro Cantoni 40.
How far is the hotel from the departure point for the tours?
Our headquarters are about 300 meters from the hotel.
Which language will be used for the tours?
English.
Is it possible to organise custom group holidays?
It is possible to organise custom group holidays in English, Dutch, German and Italian.

How many kilometers are covered daily?
On tours in Rome the average distance covered daily by bike is about 25 km, with few uphill stretches.
On tours outside Rome the average distance covered daily is 50-55 km, so the time spent cycling is on average about 4 hours a day. These tours require participants to be a bit fit, and include an average daily difference in height of about 500 meters to be covered at moderate speed using suitable bikes.
How long are the train journeys for tours that take place outside Rome?
The average duration of the train journeys is an hour and 10 minutes each way.
What responsibilities do I assume as a guest?
Guests are responsible for: choosing a trip that suits their abilities, fitness level and state of health; providing the TopBike Rental & Tours office with a signed "Release of Liability, Assumption of All Risks and Arbitration Agreement" form prior to holiday departure (guests will not be permitted to join a trip without this information on file); arriving at the departure point with the clothing and gear recommended in the Travel Planner; respecting the laws and customs of Italy; following environmental guidelines and regulations while on the trip in accordance with leader direction; and respecting the rights and privacy of other trip members. An individual may be asked to leave a trip if the leader feels that the person's continuing participation may prove detrimental to the individual or to the well-being and enjoyment of other guests.
What are TopBike Rental & Tours' limitations of liability?
TopBike Rental & Tours is not liable for bodily injury or property damage as a result of (but not limited to): physical exertion for which a guest is not prepared; forces of nature; travel by plane, train, auto, boat or other conveyance; consumption of alcoholic beverages; civil unrest; terrorism; breakdown of equipment; high altitude; the adequacy of medical attention once provided. TopBike Rental & Tours is also not liable for expenses not specified as included in the trip cost or which may be required to get to or from the departure point or arrival point of the trip. TopBike Rental & Tours reserves the right to make route and hotel modifications as necessary to improve the trip's quality or to accommodate the comfort and well-being of guests. Guests grant TopBike Rental & Tours express permission to take photographs or make film records of its trips for promotional and commercial use, as well as approving such use by third parties with whom TopBike Rental & Tours may engage in joint marketing, without financial remuneration.

How far in advance do I need to reserve my vacation?
The farther in advance you book, the greater availability of dates you'll find. For high season periods - April, May, September, October - we recommend reserving at least two to three months before the holiday you're interested in starts.
Can I reserve my TopBike Rental & Tours vacation with my travel agent?
Yes, TopBike Rental & Tours accepts reservations from professional travel agents. If you prefer to have your travel agent handle your TopBike Rental & Tours booking, please have him or her contact us directly. Pricing is the same whether you book directly with TopBike Rental & Tours or with your travel agent.
What is TopBike Rental & Tours' privacy policy?

How much of a deposit is required to reserve a vacation with TopBike Rental & Tours?
The deposit per person is € 200. It may be paid by credit card. The balance of your vacation cost is due 60 days prior to departure. It may be paid by money order in euros.
When will I receive more detailed information about my holiday so I can start planning?
After you book your holiday, you will receive a Travel Planner, which includes detailed information about arrival and departure, the hotel, public transportation, clothing and gear, passports and visa requirements.
What is TopBike Rental & Tours' guarantee policy?
TopBike Rental & Tours holidays are guaranteed to run anyway (a minimum number of participants is not foreseen) excepting only in cases of force majeure or the failure of third parties - such as the hotel - to honour their reservations in which case all payments received to date will be refunded, which constitutes full settlement. TopBike Rental & Tours is not responsible for expenses that are incurred in preparation for any cancelled reservation, such as airline tickets, or for costs that are incurred due to travel delays, flight cancellations or illness.
What if I need to cancel my reservation?
What is TopBike Rental & Tours' cancellation/transfer/refund policy?
Cancellation Policies: If you must cancel your reservation, your cancellation fee will be determined according to the policy outlined below. Exceptions to our cancellation policy cannot be made for any reason, including weather, terrorism, civil unrest or personal emergencies, unless you undersign TopBike Rental & Tours' Holiday Cancellation Insurance. There is no refund for arriving late or leaving a vacation early. Percentage charges are calculated on total trip cost.

* If cancellation is made more than 60 days prior to the start of the holiday, rather than forfeit the cancellation fees, you may choose to keep your deposit (200 euros) in a holding account to use on a future TopBike Rental & Tours vacation with no expiration date.
Transfers:
You may transfer from one holiday to another up to 60 days before holiday departure without penalty, after which time the 200 euro deposit is due. When transferring to a different date or holiday, if it costs more than your original vacation, you must pay the difference.
Release of Liability:
Guests are required to provide a signed "Release of Liability, Assumption of All Risks and Arbitration Agreement" form prior to trip departure; you will receive this material shortly after reserving your trip. You may also complete your forms online. We are unable to allow guests to participate in any aspect of a TopBike Rental & Tours vacation without a signed release form.
Is it possible to take out holiday cancellation insurance?
It is possible to take out insurance against the risk of your reservation with TopBike Rental & Tours needing to be cancelled. If for any reason it is necessary to cancel a reservation, you will be refunded the entire sum paid after deduction of the deposit (200 euros). The cost of the insurance policy is equal to 5% of the total holiday cost. It is possible to cancel your reservation with TopBike Rental & Tours right up to the last 24 hours before the tour begins, but not once it has started. The holiday cancellation insurance must be undersigned on the reservation form.
