ROME BY BIKE

Pedaling in small open squares, near churches, buildings…turning a corner in a small alley and finding yourself in an open space filled with ancient ruins…enjoying a break at a panoramic viewpoint and suddenly going down a sloped alley fringed with trees and secret passages through ancient walls... By visiting Rome by bike with us, in just a few days you will discover that this city is not only an outstanding open air museum, but it is also an evocative place, where architecture, history, tales and myths all merge into a unique atmosphere.

1st day:   Rome by night

Welcome meeting and allocation of the bikes.
Welcome Tour of Rome under the stars: The Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona. Just a small taste, by the light of the moon, of some of the major wonders of the Eternal City.
A 3-hour tour that also includes:

A stop for a drink or an ice cream at the
     Pantheon or in Piazza Navona.

2nd day:   Panoramic Rome

... The Aventine Hill, the Janiculum Hill, the Capitoline Hill, the best panoramic views of the city. A tour that allows to view the "forma urbis" (city's shape) from a suitable distance to perceive it as a whole. A unique possibility to understand the development of a city that has existed for 30 centuries, and to find out - as Goethe wrote - how Rome succeeded Rome. An itinerary that allows you to observe well-known monuments like the Colosseum and the Roman Forums from different perspectives, and to grasp the most evocative and unusual views.
An 8-hour tour that also includes:

A visit of St. Peter’s Basilica

A guided tour of the Sistine Chapel without
     having to stand in line!!!

      A light lunch.

Dinner time is at your disposal. If you wish you can book at a restaurant that has a discount agreement with TopBike Rental & Tours.

After dinner, again by bike: live music in a characteristic Roman nightclub.

3rd day:   Rome center

Going from the ancient monuments to the elegant shopping streets, from the Baroque squares to Renaissance palaces, from the churches housing art masterpieces to beautiful fountains. An itinerary which "touches on" the main attractions of Rome, without omitting working-class alleys, small hidden squares, places that are less known but associated with many historical events which give this city its unique atmosphere.
An 8 to 9-hour tour that also includes:

      A visit of the Pantheon

A guided tour of the Colosseum without
     having to stand in line!!!

A guided tour of the Palatine Hill and Roman
Forum without having to stand in line!!!

      A light lunch.

Dinner, again by bike: in a characteristic restaurant in Trastevere.

4th day: The Ancient Appian Way, Aqueducts and Caffarella Parks

...Pedaling on a 2,300-year-old cobblestone Roman road, while going past an ancient sepulchre, a Roman statue, the ruins of a circus and an imperial palace; leaving the "regina viarum" heading towards the ancient Roman aqueducts that rise over the fields into the horizon and following them on their way to Rome; going through the Caffarella Park, a preserved strip of land of the Roman countryside that so impressed the 19th century travelers such as Byron, Goethe and Stendhal. An extraordinary tour of absolute beauty. A journey into a unique environment, in which miraculously intact nature, free from modernization, forms a backdrop to the continuous passage of historical, cultural and artistic events.
A 7 to 8-hour tour that also includes:

A guided tour of the Catacombs of
     San Callisto.

      A full lunch.

The evening is at your disposal.
